Welcome to Action for People (formerly Family Resource Centre UK). We are pleased to introduce our new brand and name which will reflect our expanding work.
Why have we changed our name?
We are looking forward to an exciting 2015 as we rebrand as Action for People. We are doing this for two reasons, first, because as an organisation we seek to empower individuals and whole communities in all areas of life including health, wellbeing, education, employment and social justice, and we want our name to reflect what we do. Secondly, the name Family Resource Centre is now being used by a number of local councils as part of their Local Offer to families and this is therefore causing confusion with local service providers and users.
We look forward to moving the organisation forward in the next exciting stage of growth.
Moving forward
Over the last five years we have successfully delivered thousands of hours in providing respite, short breaks, mentoring programs and inspiring events throughout the UK, liaising with over a thousand people regarding their experiences in health, social care, poverty and social reform with the sole purpose of raising the voice of the individual.
In the last decade our organization has evolved from dispensing childrens information services to partnering with local authorities, various institutes and voluntary groups in bringing about a difference and supporting those who need assistance.
Action for People has built a reputation for its innovation in service development, proudly delivering award winning Family Information Services that highlight the growing issues and needs of the young and old to implement practical change.
Regardless of circumstance, race, gender, disability or behaviour, Action for People believes in the individual. We understand its our duty to actively seek out any person or organization that requires assistance. Our ongoing responsibility is to provide support, advice and information that will not just empower families but the community at large.
As a thriving National Network, that challenges and operates at a local hands-on level, we are committed to providing the individual with the tools of informed choice, allowing decision making that benefits them, their family or organization.
